SWEET BABY

STUD

I am so inlove with this picture of him. He looks so sweet in it. Even though he is the amazing no sleeping baby, he is the best. I have tried what I think is everything and still cannot get him to consistently go down for a nap. Most of the time swaddling and bouncing does it. Today he woke up at 7:45 and did not sleep until 2! Then woke 45 minutes later. Does anyone have tips??? I will try anything but letting him cry it out. Anyway I just love this little man.

Hey Jenna,
I just checked in on your blog and I had the same problem with Holly. I got a sound machine that makes White Noise, I bought it at Wal-mart or Target, don't remember. I turn it up pretty loud so that she can't hear any other noise in her room. It helps her sleep so well. I take it on vacations too. I use it for naps and nighttime. Also, does he show any tired signs. The minute he starts getting grouchy, rubs his eyes, any signs, try to soothe him and put him down. With Holly I would wait too long and once she was over-tired, forget it! One more thing, I started making sure I was home for two naps around the same time everyday. It helped with her schedule. Now she takes two great naps. Every baby is different though so good luck!!! I thought naptime was one of the hardest things to figure out! Oh - Holly didn't start napping great until about 5-6 months and the doc said that a lot of times around 6 months is when they start to get on a schedule easier so it may be just around the corner! :-)

Hey Jenna,

Olivia has a hard time with naps lately(she won't sleep). They say it's because they're about to reach a huge milestone and their brains are constantly processing! Isn't Jake almost 6 months? Thats when they start to crawl. For me to get some time I usually put Olivia in her swing with a blanket over it. The blanket keeps her from seeing me. How is your little man doing at night time? By the way, This is the cutest picture ever! Mark and I live in Maricopa, which is far from anything. We seriously should get together for a play group though!

Yeah, the white noise has worked really well for Chase also. I used to swaddle him and rock him to sleep. Now I just swaddle him and lay him down and I put a rolled up blanket next to him on one side (so he doesn't feel alone) just make sure it's not too close to his face, obviously. We never let him cry himself to sleep either, not even for a minute! My sister in law does that and her baby is 12 months old and he still doesn't go down for the night as well as Chase does. Just watch for those cues even if he still seems playful if he's rubbing his eyes and getting irratible he's probably ready for a nap! I hope this helps a little good luck:)
